Healthy Eating Patterns

Healthy Eating Patterns

So, here we are in the post New Year haze of too much eating and drinking considering the coming year ahead of us, personally I like to think of these feast times as necessary – our gut bacteria must have a ball!

Thankfully there are seasons to eat, drink and make merry, and there are spaces in between to eat normally just as there are times it is best to fast and let our digestive systems empty out, rest and repair.

Many of us are busy getting back to our usual meals and portions right about now and feeling all the better for it. A new year is a great time to create better ways of feeding ourselves, as always, small changes pay large dividends diet wise.

However, I know for myself, making the transition back to healthy eating after indulgence was always a struggle. I am hearing from people already about how difficult it is to switch off from the 2 weeks of feasting and get back into a normal pattern.

It has got me thinking, exactly what is a healthy eating pattern and why are so many people struggling with food the way it is presented and the typical diet as we have come to believe it should be.

I remember sharing the way I eat with some of my professional colleagues a couple of years ago, only to be shot down and nearly shouted down – so outrageous was my suggestion. For myself. I was only referring to myself in the conversation, yet there was such a fearful response as if they couldn’t run fast enough to get away from what I was saying.

I have been thinking about it ever since.

Many of you know that a few years ago, I had spent several years intermittent fasting and found a much more suitable approach to food for myself and my family. A lot of change came from that time for me, certainly the least of which had to do with food.

It also set me thinking, exactly what is a healthy eating pattern and why are so many people struggling with food the way it is presented and the 'typical diet', the way we are informed is a normal way to eat, doesn’t appear to fit with health?

I mean, the only ones who are to gain from all of us eating 3 meals and 3 snacks a day are the multi national food producers. And of course the illness industry because all of that food is making us sick. We are eating too much, too often, mostly of the same things.

Enough already, you are thinking – what way do you eat?

So, I eat one meal a day and once a month I fast for 3 days on juice.

Typically, every day I prepare one meal, unless it’s my birthday or a special occasion or a holiday. Even this past holiday season, we generally ate one large celebratory meal a day, but had snacks or late desserts because it was a special time with special treats.

There was NO big transition back to normal eating. And there hasn’t been when I am eating this way, because I still have the one meal in the middle of the day (give or take). I can eat what I want, as much as I want and have dessert at the end, if I want.

The only difference after Christmas is the really rich desserts and late evening snacks are gone, but so are the late nights – so my routines are back to normal as well.

I have been eating this way for about 2 ½ years and here is what I have found;

I tend to eat less than I would if I was eating 3 meals a day.
I have more energy, as less time is spent digesting food.
I sleep better, because I eat earlier in the day.
I get far more done!
Cooking is simple – one 4 course meal a day, everyone pitches in.
Incorporating a 3 day juice fast is very easy.
Adding in exercise is easier, because my tummy isn’t full am or pm.
I eat a wider variety of foods.

For quite some time I have been talking to anyone who will listen, about the way we have been trained to eat, because it has seemed to be all wrong, at least for many of us. If 3 meals and 3 snacks a day suit you and you feel fantastic eating that way – wonderful!

However, if I ate breakfast, I would be snacking all evening. If I skipped breakfast, no snacking and not as hungry the rest of the day, that was my absolute first clue that the three meals a day thingy was no good for me.

It was only a few days ago that I realized I remember being vegan, eating extremely healthfully (no sugar, no gluten) and feeling tired after my main meal, back then I was eating 3 meals a day. Now, I can jump up from my dinner with the same energy as my children and run up to the gardens to get some work in before it gets dark.

Eating this way has made a huge difference to my health, my lifestyle and my time.

Todays’ meal was all prepared by me in ½ hour to 45 minutes except oven time (I had the sourdough started in the early morning)

Sourdough pizza topped with artichoke pate, mushrooms, red onion, goats cheese, Bonita tuna & olives
Brown rice cooked with cinnamon & turmeric with stir fry vegetables of beans, carrots, onions, fennel, broccoli, mushrooms and fish
Sourdough toast with peanut butter & jam
Kombucha to drink & sesame honey almond treats for dessert.

There was enough for everyone with loads left over for another meal tomorrow. This meal fed 5 people today - everyone had seconds.

If you find your digestion is over burdened with too much food, perhaps skipping a meal now and then might be the way to get started towards a healthier new you.

You Are A Billion Points of Light

Perhaps it’s not what you think it is, this concept of ‘light’ (as in Light worker, seek the light, be the light, rise up towards the light, let your light shine blah, blah)….maybe we have been in the dark for so long by now, any light on the horizon might appear a bit strange.

What if the light was just like a bit of brightness along the edges of our vision? It seeps inwards filling a space….but we have to draw it towards us, like a sponge to water.

I have often wondered about my own response to when that ‘good’ or ‘light’ thing comes along, would I know it? There are those of us who would not really recognize it, because these edges are blurred.

We have been living in the dark, but are told it is light.

So, would we really be able to tell good from bad when we are steeped in darkness with our inner light pushed down for all these lifetimes?

I know people who lament an unfulfilled life and live in pain from their belief they have made the wrong decision…left the wrong person behind, taken a more difficult path and are just beaten down by lack of vision.

However, this all being said – if we can use our imagination, the light inside of us is a powerful force and will lift us up. Once we witness something with the frequency of hope – a power can rise up inside of us and take over.

Our tissues and cells respond to specific vibrations throughout time and space; our body's frequency reacts to light….

Our eyes are meant to be filled with light….we are capable of shining….like stars, suns and moons. We can cast our light leaving a trail of sparkly dust wherever we go….

Don't let the darkness win....there is a light inside of you. Seek it - and watch as you become a billion points of light.

Magic - Walking Towards the Light

As an Intuitive I am always looking for the connection between our physical reality (food, flesh and blood) and these other worlds (energetic, emotional and spiritual realms). They are not mutually exclusive from each other – nor should they be – many of us walk in other worlds as writers and dreamers.

Once a link has been established, between these dimensions – information exchange, healing and real living can begin. We are multi-dimensional beings for a reason, with access to sources of energy potential, such as magic.

Whenever we think of magic, a lot of the mental pictures that immediately spring to mind are of darkness, witches, ghouls and goblins. None of these creatures are very nice and they have given this art a bad name.

And, everything about this time of year with it’s enveloping darkness and Halloween has only served to deepen the mystery. Alluding to more of what we do not know – about those energies lurking about in the shadows.

There is a heavy, shady dark aspect to all of life (it’s called balance) and magic is no exception, however, there is also a pure, gentle and loving side. This has sadly been missing from our lives because it has had to be hidden for protection.

When the religions of the world went into their blood lust killing spree to rid the world of ‘witches’ – they were mainly looking for people exercising their own free will. In other words, they sought out followers of the old ways – those who continued to use herbs for childbirth and healing, who understood the cycles and rhythms of the earth.

Anyone who was a non-conformer, a seeker of the truth, a free thinker – females were an easy target, often without formal education, and basic human rights of the times. Naturally, if they were concocting a herbal remedy in their kitchen for a headache, they were up to some evil spell!

Actually magic is more aligned with free will then any other energy form in the Universe. Will power should be an unlimited resource for us as human beings,  however it has been interfered with, redirected and overshadowed by sinister forces – such as medication and sugar.

That’s right – sugar, processed foods, alcohol, chemicals, medications, plastics and all manner of toxic by-products now found in our food and water.

The fundamental and most vital part of magic is our food – a ritual meal prepared with fresh non toxic ingredients, herbs, natures’ bounty (under a new or full moon or some other season) – this is the essence of creating something new.

And basic magic at it’s absolute best would be interfered with were we to use low vibration or other types of contaminated food. This would be the equivalent  of inviting sorcery and it’s dark forces into our cells. Yet, for the most part – this information has been altered and lost to us and we simply are unaware of these things.

The main difference between these two traditions of magic and sorcery, would be vast by degree – magic pulls in nature, love, healing and uplifting energies of the earth through food, water, cooking and symbolic ritual. There are darker sides to this as well but that is for another post!

While sorcery might involve numbers, symbols, ritual and other worldly spirits in a far more intense manner to create or force change. However, dark forces align themselves with the like natures found in chemicals, plastics, toxins and all manner of man-made substances. These are prevalent in the food chain in nearly every commodity.

Indeed, what we finding out there in the food aisles – is nearly every concoction you can imagine containing sugar, excess salt, all manner of chemicals and preservatives, meats saturated with medication (from abused animals), everything wrapped in plastic and God knows what else.

All energy, all change, and indeed all magic begins its’ life on the inside – as part of our conscious intentions.  We are what we think and feel and do – far more then is known about , felt or seen.

If you want to create magic in your life and be more a part of these Universal mysteries – you have to clean up your diet, heal your body and walk the talk of a spiritual being.

It is that simple.

Following Your Own Path and Dreams

One of the most difficult aspects of walking a spiritual path and following your own calling - is that so many people  are not coming with you. Not everyone is called and there are many who are simply not interested in a spiritual endeavour.

For those of us who have been on this path for quite some time, we find ourselves interacting with others, or a part of some relationships which are not spiritual in nature. On the surface this is fine, over the short term an association such as this works. However...

There are drawbacks to remaining in long term associations with others who are not on the same wave length or living their lives with any form of spiritual intention. The words I have often used to describe this affiliation are - it is far easier to be pulled down to to a lower level, then for you to pull anyone up to yours.

Besides, when someone is not interested or simply not here at this moment in time ready to take on a spiritual existence or embrace a higher consciousness fully - there is nothing you can do or should do to convince them otherwise.

To each his/her own.

Of course, this leads us back to looking more closely at ourselves, our immediate family and being focused on the road that lies before us. When we do this with all of our hearts, minds, body and soul - it will require all our resources and full attention.

Paying attention to our own needs, wants, hopes and desires is what helps us to carefully move forward and inwards toward our greatest dreams and the life we are creating. Pulling ourselves away from any draining relationships will ensure our energy is well placed and not diverted to needless ventures.

Why is this so important? Well, one way to look at it is how tiring it can be when you are not focused on the goal. With any adventure we embark on, it is important to enjoy the sights along the way, meet others and interact as we learn about life but in the meantime to keep our sights on the final destination.

Another aspect of keeping to your own counsel is to not become confused, turned around or suffer from a lack of clarity. How many hours, day or weeks have we wasted agonizing over which way to go, how to move forward or just whether or not to get up out of bed - because of feeling dazed and confused about everything we are doing...

When energies from others are mixed or intertwined with yours (everyone has their own agenda and their own interests) this will cause some level of confusion because you are no longer following the purity of your own dreams.

This is seen primarily when you work for others - those of us walking the spiritual path will eventually be pulled away from other pursuits in favour of our own. Which serves to keep the dreams of our own hearts alive and the main pursuit in our lives.

There is much that should and will change for you are you move along the road ahead of you towards the home you are seeking and creating. Embrace each shift, change and newness with an open heart, a clear mind and a healthy body.

To do this you must be sure who you are and what you are doing at each stage of the journey - be prepared to walk this alone as a family. There is much to be said about traveling in such a way - the experience is your own, you create it and when others interact with you - it comes about through divine intervention. Not interference.

Have a productive day,

April

What is Energy? an excerpt from Universal Energy Laws

Usually the most common definition for energy is the ability to do work, it can also be used in reference to the ability to make something happen. Both of these definitions put forward some powerful and interesting concepts. Other words that can be used for energy according to the thesaurus are: vigour, vitality, life, spiritedness, spark, strength, power, drive, fire, force, and so forth.

But you probably get the picture. All of these words and even these most simple definitions equate energy as being very similar to other elemental forces.

When we speak of energy in terms of the ability to do work, this is where energy comes into its own. Our bodies must ‘work’ and be in working order, otherwise we are dysfunctional (something is NOT working) or become sick and depressed.

One very important aspect of living on this planet, is that all human beings need to contribute to the consciousness, and for many of us, this is our work. If this is your work, then you are responsible for keeping your body, mind and soul, clear, clean and in great condition.

Otherwise what sort of energy are you actually contributing?

When we think of energy in terms of the ability to make something happen, this implies that it is a force and can be used or applied to other things. If this is the case then I can shift or move energy from place to place or transfer it from one site to another. Actually this is a very simple process and is what takes place during energy therapy, for example.

This concept also helps us to understand the very real situation of energetic blocks, resistance, reluctance, denial and refusal- each of these is a problem within the energy field and leads to all sorts of chronic issues such as anxiety, overweight, dis-ease and dysfunction.

An energy BLOCK, is a place of little or no movement within the energy field. It contains energy that is stagnant, immovable, frozen or stuck and if not dealt with will lead to dis-ease and dysfunction.

What is Consciousness and what does it have to do with energy?

Consciousness is a force first of all. The dictionary refers to it as a state of awareness, alert, responsive, mindfulness, with actions that are purposeful, deliberate and knowing. This is loaded! Imagine the planet becoming a living breathing aware and conscious being…oh the things we could do.

Like all energy, consciousness is alive and lives within your cells residing in the WATERY matrix in living tissue. The task then becomes to connect to your highest levels of consciousness and allow your body to be pulled up to vibrate at the highest point.

This is especially important with the food we feed our bodies such as living food like fresh vegetables and fruit. In a plant based diet these living foods contain consciousness, while ‘dead’ food (some meats, prepared meals, highly processed food) does not, a good reason to limit fish and meat and cut out rubbish.

Water is also able to alter its composition to become conscious, this is how consciousness is moved within cells, and therefore is the medium for a gradual process of awakening. In fact water is so important to you as a healer, energy practitioner, therapist or light worker, your body, mind and soul cannot integrate (arrive back together) unless you change your vibration through water.

To connect with the highest vibration of love and consciousness, and then to draw to you what is yours, you have to at least rise up to meet it. Closing the Energy Leaks© then becomes part of the whole process, which includes pure food and movement and taking action.

It is not enough to just visualize or meditate, no matter what others may say! You must then act (move) on what your heart desires and not be a passive watcher. This movement includes exercise and the right diet as well as managing your own energy.

It's All A Lie?

What if absolutely everything you have been told all of your life by nearly everyone (organizations,  companies, religions, government, 'those' in power) has been a lie? A series of false data creating a smoke screen meant to throw you off your path, enslave you, keep you down and force you into subservience?

Quite a statement there, huh? The sad fact here is that this is true. We can choose to cling to the official line and believe all that spews out from highly controlled mediums such as radio, television, internet and 'the news'. Or we can plan a journey within to find the truth for ourselves.

There are things we are led to believe each and every day - which couldn't be further from the truth.
  • You will eventually develop 'some' dysfunction and end up on medication as you age
  • Your food from the supermarket contains adequate nutrition
  • Water, milk, food etc. is safer after having been treated with chemicals
  • Your body needs help healing itself via drugs
  • You go to school to learn

If indeed, nearly everything we have been told about life, our bodies, the food we eat, the way we function and even who we are and what we are capable of is completely incorrect, what then is real and how do I go about sorting this out?

First of all, the term 'research' is a farce - you cannot conduct experiments on a tiny group within a population and consider any information  that is gained to be worthwhile. There are far too many variables, a host of parameters which we are not able (or interested it seems) to control for and there are many differences amongst individuals.

But, this is not even the beginning of the charade! There are no people on this planet free from toxins, debris and poisons which would also influence any results - and who/what is healthy? What is the definition of health, compared to what?

Health is not the mere absence of disease. I would venture to say again that you would be hard pressed to find one who is 'healthy'.

Therefore, any and all trials, experiments and studies carried out on 'healthy' people are null and void. Besides, what does it matter that 'this' drug works on 'that' man made condition resulting from poor diet, lack of exercise and general lack of interest in life? It doesn't solve the problem.

This is important because much of our accepted information about the human body is based on assumptions made from carrying out 'research'. If we suddenly threw out the false knowledge we might be left with a very different picture.

What sorts of things would change, dissolve and otherwise fall apart?

  • food pyramids set up to create disease?
  • education systems designed to encourage conformity?
  • religious organizations based on dysfunctional fear?
  • medical care absolutely focused on sickness?

I read a lot, talk to people and listen to everything around me - so far there are not many people who have hit home with the fact that awakening is all about having your eyes opened to the truth. Once this happens, anything else in the lie becomes an obstacle that must be cast by the wayside or else you cannot live with yourself.

When you begin to wake up (this is a gradual process) the only way forward is to systematically remove components of the fabricated universe as you make every effort to see what lies beyond. Thus, stepping into levels of higher consciousness is a little like seeing heaven and then stopping at nothing until you have entered its' gates.

You know what I know? We are incredible beyond belief, powerful beyond measure and capable of far more then we will ever realize on this plane of existence. Our bodies can heal everything and anything without interference, our food should be simple and our needs of it little, the untapped potential energy at our source is limitless and that we don't really believe any of this.

Why? Because 'they' (those who enslave you) are afraid for us to find out.

Have a nice day,

April

Pulling Out of The Recession

Today I am on my third day of a mini cleanse - I do them often and have incorporated fasting into my life to help me get where I want to go as well as to keep the energy positive and moving forward. I just mentioned to someone once again that fasting and following The Pagan Diet (which is so much more than just fasting!) has changed my life and pulled us out of the recession.

I know this sounds strange - what does food, fast and feast have to do with coming through a recession and all that this entails (losing jobs, living on less, upheaval and loss)? However, it is exactly as it sounds and quite simple, I only hope that I can explain it properly for you.

In this world of ours at the present moment the economy is in a deep recession (or depression) caused by the greed of a very few at the top of the food chain who apparently can run things (that don't even belong to them) into the ground and get away with it. Of course, if we go back to a simple physical and spiritual principle here - what is taking place outside of us is also taking place inside of us, then you begin to see things a little differently.

If something has taken control of your life on the outside (such as the sad state of the economy) and you  believe you are helpless to do anything about it, then the exact same thing has happened on the inside of your body and you are equally not in control or even having a say in how things are run.

Looking at this another way, (remember how I said this was simple) - the presence of non beneficial gut bacteria, yeast, mold, viruses and whatnot have taken over control of your resources (your food) and are taking the lions' share of these nutrients to feed themselves, leaving you with very little left over. What is worse they also produce toxic by-products and wastes of their own which are released inside your body.

Is it any wonder that you are feeling tired, depleted, unwell, depressed or overweight, unsatisfied, frustrated, worried and fearful? Something else is eating your food, causing your cravings, controlling your metabolism and in every way keeping you in a negative holding pattern I have been calling a recession of the body, mind and soul.

I am a person who over the years has tried absolutely everything to be well, lose excess weight, balance hormones, keep my sanity and improve my life. Perhaps everything that I have attempted to do during these past few years has worked because it all brought me back to fasting, master cleanses and detoxing.

Once you begin the process of removing toxins, debris, poisons and all the sludge that has build up inside of your cells that is caused by the presence of these scumbags, your entire life will change and  shift in your favour. The fastest, easiest and safest way to detox and take back control of your life is through fasting with mainly (there is a little recipe) clean unpolluted water.

As I said at the beginning of this post, it is simple.

Always Waiting...?

I have been making some observations about myself and my thinking - or at least the way that I have been used to thinking for most of my life and find hard to shake. We all seem to have these patterns to our thought processes and for me (perhaps you as well?) one of them is that I keep putting things off until the right time.

Even those words do not adequately describe what we do exactly, it's as if we want to live or be a certain way, however, for that to come about will take considerable time, commitment, energy and effort - so we often just put it down as another wish/dream/desire/hope and let it sit.

Of course, what we end up with is this habit of wanting to do something, or create some new way of living, be somewhere and so forth - BUT, because it cannot be the exact way I would like it to be in that moment, I either back away from it or relegate it to the future events pile.

What I have realized is that by doing this continuously over my lifetime of living with all of these hopes and desires, the dream becomes like a carrot that is always slightly out of reach with us continuously going around in circles wishing that things were different.

Today I was pulling this thought pattern apart and I came up with several reasons that seem to float through my mind whenever I think of certain of my goals/dreams/hopes/wishes  and why I am not living the way I want to be living at this very moment; I realized I think something along these lines -

wait until 'this' comes to me
looking forward to 'something' happening
wait until I have 'the' money or more money or financial security
wait until I live in a better location for 'that' to happen
wait until someone else does 'it' with me
wait until I am 'ready'

Now, if I was to insert a goal into each of those brief thoughts, such as having a baby or getting a puppy (if you have had children or a puppy you can relate to this) - waiting for something to happen is not going to make it happen, you will never have enough money and the time will never be exactly right.

Thankfully most of us go ahead and have children or get puppies anyway and deal with the life changes as they come up. So, why is it any different to place some other goal or desire into this scenario above and expect the same positive results, going with things as they happen or making them happen?

Could it be because a dream is still thought of as an extra, not really necessary, or might there be some level of higher resistance to pursuing a dream? And why might that be? Perhaps a dream is so large, affects so many and so much more that these ripples change everything, for everybody. Could there be an element of fear here?

Maybe dreams arrive from someplace else, a place where we first have to travel deep inside to retrieve them from the darkness, bringing them into the light of day. There may be many ways to look at the mechanics of waking up the dreamer inside- however, once awake, watch out world, because the waiting is over.

The decision is ours,

April

Why Is This So Difficult?

I have spoken with a few people over these past few weeks and there seems to be one main theme amongst those who are trying to walk a spiritual path - that this is hard and perhaps it has gotten harder over the last while.

Right now there just seems to be so many opposing forces within each of us and of course swirling around us that are attempting to derail people on their journey. In many instances these forces succeed at least for a time as we can often become side tracked by situations and drama.

However, once the game is recognized for what it is, we can remove ourselves from the board and stop playing along. Or is this where the difficulty lies for some people? They can see the game and energy they are caught up in, but choose not to move away from it because it serves them in some way.

In this way, they believe that by keeping a foot firmly in both camps they will benefit from both or not miss out on anything. Perhaps it also has a lot to do with fear, people who are fearful will do nearly anything to keep things the same, change can be unnerving and involves responsibility for the outcome.

For others, there are difficult choices to be made, and once new roads are taken, the path can become increasingly tedious and stressful. In some ways it can be compared to being punished for making choices in favor of a higher spirituality. And indeed that is what appears to be happening.

A path to higher consciousness will take you away from people, places and situations where you were once told that you belonged. At least, at one time that was all there was, but you knew you were different and that you did not really fit in.

Pulling away and pushing back from the place you were in has taken courage, time and for some of us, it has cost us dearly. However, such decisions are not taken lightly but come about from years of seeking answers, soul searching and finally taking steps to create forward movement in our lives.

When I look back at what my life is now compared to where I have come from, and the time in between that has seemingly taken me to the gates of hell and back, I no longer wonder why. I know that this has served to strengthen me, but more than that, it has also enabled me to unlearn or un-believe  all that I was taught about myself and the world around me, which of course never worked for me because it did not apply or fit into my dreams.

In essence walking the talk and choosing to seek a higher path asks everything of you which will then enable you to re-create from the ground up the life you choose to live. And this is not easy, but this too is about to change, don't be afraid of it.

Have a wonderful day,

April

Getting Out of Our Own Way

These past few days during my cleanse I have been focused on removing obstacles, blocks, resistance and other negative energy that has been holding me back. So, with this theme in mind I have been chipping away at some of the more obvious areas where I have been feeling stuck.

Of course the entire point of doing any cleanse of this sort, what I would call a 'spiritual detox' is to get at the bottom of whatever these underlying patterns are buried deep in my soul. I once heard it said that dysfunction of the spirit is far more serious then any other disorder of the body. This part of us can be damaged seemingly beyond repair and it is a delicate place to encourage healing.

In fact many of us go through our entire lives feeling hurt, damaged, weary or worse, not feeling at all - because the heart, the door that leads to spirit has been firmly closed in face of pain and adversity. Is it any wonder that the number one disorder and most modern diseases centre around the heart?

Just what is it that drives us out of our 'homes' and takes us so very far away from the centre of our being, enough to cause a slow and painful inflammation that ultimately develops from disconnection? Perhaps there is no one reason but many forming a web that contains us and disables our ability to find our way back to our deepest selves.

We have all heard the saying 'you can't go home again' and I fully understand this on one level. Once you leave the place of your childhood, you will change and step into bigger shoes, not wanting to play the same roles. To me then, this was not our home, but a temporary living arrangement in someone else's house.

You must seek out a place for yourself, creating it out of the person you want to be and then put your heart and soul into such a project. Yet not many people can achieve this or even realize that this is what they are seeking in their lives.

A block in the heart is an emptiness, a hole that cannot be filled though many of us try with excess food, drink, drugs and other addictions. If you are brave and want to continue on your spiritual journey, this hole will have to be repaired one way or another. Of course, there are many bonuses to be found in the healing of the heart, and you will watch your life come back together in new ways.

Perhaps the best thing we can do once we are at this point is to make sure that we are not equally part of the problem here, hanging on to our familiar blocks and obstacles.

It is time to let go and move onwards and upwards.

Looking For Love

As you may know already, I am on day 8 of a 10 day Master Cleanse which I started with the firm intention of removing blocks, breaking down walls and navigating my way around obstacles that were generally holding me back from living my dreams.

Here I am breaking down these walls around my heart and all I am thinking of is love - of course for me, I always start a query by looking it up - love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment that you feel for another person. Ok. But, that doesn't fill in all of the blanks for me yet.

What else is love? What does it mean to me and why do I curl up and move away from people who throw this word around so easily? I write in one of my books that there must be different levels or degrees of love - because I can hear this word and want to run or 'feel' it and want to stay.

So, love must be far more than just an emotion, or a word and even an action. If love is what you do, who you are, the things you are passionate about and your inner soul/heart/being all wrapped up into one package - why are so many people afraid of it?

I am not entirely sure that I will be able to explain this but I will give it a try. From my observations, love is a force and not just any force it is THE central force of the Universe. Being a force it is strong, deliberate and certain. When I look up the word force I find -

~ force is any influence that causes an object (insert person here) to undergo a certain change in movement, direction or structure

When we allow those words and meaning to sink in a little, it makes sense that being around 'love' or witnessing the power and strength (force) of love can be quite unnerving for many people because that is pretty awesome stuff.

Love then is an emotion or state of being and place inside of us, once we re-gain our inner spaces, where this force resides. To be perfectly honest, I am surrounded by love, and I do many of the things that I love to do, however, it has taken multiple cleanses, years of detox and walking a spiritual journey to take me just to the door of love inside of myself.

When I make connections to all else that I am doing in my life, these facts inform me of something vitally important here - that the food we eat, the water we drink, the people we spend time with, the work we do and the lives we have been living - have all conspired to push us as far away from the power of love as possible.

If our physical bodies are filled with fear (from television, radio, food, medication, unhappy relationships, dead end jobs etc.) then there is no room left for love. Or, love is pushed and squeezed into tiny far reaching corners of our beings, cut off and disconnected from our energy flow.

Most of us live this way, experience our entire lifetimes missing out on the key element that makes us unique and gives our human species unlimited potential. Love is a force which is an energy drive or source of power. And we don't even know that we have it.

Living the way we are living, burying ourselves in layers of debris and toxins, digging these holes and falling into patterns that keep us trapped and held back... it is no wonder that so many are frustrated, tired and angry with life and just want things to change. You, however are the only one that can decide to do the work that it takes to create the changes that you want in your life.

May the force be with you,

April
