Saving the Bees....One Backyard Hive At A Time - Bee Keeping Workshop Liss Ard Estate 7th June

Bee Keeping Workshop 7th June 2015 - West Cork

Press Release: Natural Beekeeping Class
Liss Ard Estate, West Cork, Ireland, 7th June 2015

A chemical free - Natural Beekeeping Class is being offered on Sunday 7th June 2015 to introduce people to a gentler approach to Beekeeping at Liss Ard Estate in Skibbereen.

This is a perfect venue for the beekeeping class with plenty of space to roam around in their own natural habitat.

Max Danann & Trevor Danann both certified Beekeepers, are offering training in Natural Beekeeping (chemical free) through use of Top Bar Hives and their own hybrid mixed hives. The workshop is geared toward those with no prior experience in beekeeping but Beekeepers of any level are welcome.

April Danann will also be on hand to discuss her research project on Irish honey - The Honey Project - a microbiological review of honeys from around the world and their unique healing properties.

Top Bar Hives are an alternative type of hive to commercial or national framed style hives currently in use. These are considered to closely resemble natural bee habitat and bees thrive in them. Many long time beekeepers are switching over to using some form of top bar hive. As well, our own mixed hive featuring framed Top Bars will be discussed.

During the class, you will be introduced to some time honoured traditions in beekeeping, learn about honey, equipment needs, initial start-up, bee health; including disease, pesticides, colony collapse disorder and how to keep a bee garden.

Students will be walked through a Top Bar Hive as well as other types – how they work, how to maintain a hive, and how to provide a family with a source of honey. There will be plenty of time for questions during this discussion style workshop.

Bees are everyone’s responsibility – at one time most back gardens had a hive or two – it’s time we came back to supporting these beautiful creatures – this class is a step forward in learning how to do just that.

Date; 7th June 2015
Place; Liss Ard Estate Skibbereen
Time; 1:30 to 4:30pm
Cost: €55.00 (includes notes, light refreshments)
Contact: Max Danann 0873284762, email info@aprildanann.com or stop by our stall to book your place. Deposit required to hold a seat.

Updates and News

I will be at the West Lodge Hotel in Bantry on Sunday 2nd March for the next West Cork Health & Wellness Open Day. We are really looking forward to this event as an opportunity to get to know some  of the many others out there working in our communities and to touch base with all of you in a posher setting (other then in wellies and 5 jumpers in the farmers market! LOL)

The day is a free event – come on out for a chat and some nibbles from the Rebel Foods Market Stall table….I will have all of my creams, remedies, healing balms, salves and herbs!

It’s on from 12noon to 5pm on Sunday 2nd March 2014.

On Sunday 30th March 2014 – we will be hosting our first Top Bar Bee Keeping Day of the season. It will be here in Leap in April’s Clinic – this is a hands on informative day on all things bee, alternative (chemical free) and top bar.

Featuring our own Danann design Top Bar hives, slide show, lecture and workshop style session to get you up to speed on keeping bees, bee health and bee-ing a part of the natural environment.

We all need to do our part – so why not start with your garden, look after the bees and they will take care of you!

And On the 7th Day...

Here we are, once again now on day 7 and deep into another detox cycle - each of us is keenly aware of it this time around as well. We are far more in sync as a family or a unit that is detoxing - quite remarkable actually.

Not much in the way of physical symptoms - I am feeling pretty good, really clear in myself and lighter in my stomach area. This Master Cleanse has gone deeper than any other before - with a lot of old dark, heavy 'things' coming up to the surface. I am relieved that perhaps some of this is moving out now and that progress is being made.

I am also having a lot of dreams and visions - I usually have visions or other worldly insight but when I get busy and preoccupied with the stuff around me, these often fade into the background. It is nice to have them back and to feel more in touch with other dimensions within myself.

Yesterday was definitely a day for the other realms - there were fairies, animal beings, plants and trees with human form and all sorts of interesting creatures coming into view for me - each with their own wisdom or information to share.

I feel as if I am finally cleaned out enough to be worthy of that special link and communication with them again. And that is indeed what this Master Cleanse is comparable to - a gentle bath on the inside of my body to remove built up debris which ultimately hold me back in some way.

It always feels good to get to this point in the cleanse because now I feel as if I have a chance to reflect back on these last 6 days and then decide if there are any other issues I would like to focus on - although most of the time my body appears to have its own agenda! LOL

I am also aware that I am not feeling as productive from a getting things done perspective this time around - I am resting more and reflecting a lot on what I am feeling. Each MC is so different so you just have to go with it and let it play out naturally.

Well, off to get some things done, have a good one!

April
